I'm Just a Nerd Trying to See The World One Adventure at a Time...

Neist Point Lighthouse

Neist Point Lighthouse

The Neist Point Lighthouse is located on the western-most point of the Isle of Skye. You can walk all the way out and explore around the lighthouse. It would probably take about an hour to walk out to the lighthouse and back. Since we were short of time, we opted for climbing up the hill and getting a good vantage point to see the lighthouse and surrounding cliffs from above.

This is one of the most famous and most photographed lighthouses in Scotland - for good reason.

It’s absolutely beautiful and I’m sure at sunset it’s even more spectacular.

There can be very high winds here so the hike down to the lighthouse might not be a good idea if the weather isn’t cooperating.

Getting to Neist Point is on a single track road from Glendale and there is a small parking lot but, like most things on Skye, it can get busy and fill up quickly. People end up parking along the road when the parking lot is full. So it can be a little chaotic getting in and out.

Neist Point was our last stop at the end of the day. It was pretty chilly & a little rainy, so it wasn’t too crowded for us at that time.

Adventure Always.
