Talisker Distillery
Talisker Distillery was a distillery that we really wanted to see because it is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye. They offer a few options for tours and tastings, including a new one where you can draw Talisker whisky straight from the cask.
The distillery tour is £20, which includes a tasting of 3 of their single malts. It’s only an hour long so it’s an easy add-on stop and can be a very welcome break from the wind & rain if the weather isn’t great.
It’s a beautiful distillery and the tour was interesting & informative and the guide was fun & friendly. However, if you’ve seen other whisky distillery tours they’re all a little similar. Next time, I’d probably opt for their immersive tasting experience for £15. It’s a 30 minute experience and it also includes a guided tasting of 3 Talisker whiskies. Or, when it becomes available, the Cask Draw tasting experience because when else would you have the opportunity to taste world-renowned whisky straight from the barrel? Either of those options would give you something a little different and memorable.
Up next was a stop at The Oyster Shed for the most outstanding fresh seafood you can imagine!
Adventure Always.
